Filipino American History Month Celebration at Little Quiapo Restaraunt

When: Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Where: Little Quiapo Restaraunt, 6259 N. McCormick Ave, Chicago, IL
RSVP: https://www.meetup.com/chicago-restaurants/events/234691266/

Little Quiapo Restaurant has been serving Chicagoland authentic filipino cuisine since 1979. They set out to give new-comers a taste of the Philippines and to give Filipinos here in the states a reminder of home. Little Quiapo Restaurant has also participated in the Taste Of Chicago.
Little Quiapo Restaurant offers their extremely popular dinner buffet. From fried rice to pinakbet to crispy pata, the buffet offers their customers a taste of just about everything on the menu. The buffet gives their newer customers a chance to explore and find out exactly what they like, but some of their returning customers seem to enjoy it even more.
There is a big Jeepney parked in the main dining room that is used to hold the always-popular buffet dishes. Little Quiapo Restaurant, however, also has a menu as well.
October is also Filipino American History Month so join us at Little Quiapo Restaurant for the celebration. The Filipino American National Historical Society established Filipino American History Month in the year 1988. In the 103rd Congress, a resolution to nationally recognize Filipino American History Month was introduced. The House of the 111th Congress introduced a House Resolution 155 (H. RES. 155) to officially recognize this month for Filipinos. In October 2009, the Senate of the 111th Congress passed a resolution recognizing Filipino American History Month. In November 2009, Congress passed the resolution (H. RES. 780), officially recognizing October as Filipino American History Month.
