ChatGPT is an advanced language model developed by OpenAI. ChatGPT is based on the Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) architecture. The "GPT" in ChatGPT stands for "Generative Pre-trained Transformer," which describes the underlying technology.

GPT models are a kind of artificial neural network that are particularly good at handling sequential data, like natural language text. They are trained on large datasets of text and learn to predict the likelihood of a word or phrase following a given sequence of words. This makes them effective at generating human-like text.

ChatGPT specifically is designed to facilitate conversation and is trained to respond to user queries in a conversational manner.
